Sourdough for bread and other baked goods has been around for ages, but in recent years it has become trendy - and for very good reasons. First of all, the taste of this artisan style bread is amazing. It has a unique flavour, aroma and consistency that will keep you coming back for more. These beneficial bacteria also help to regulate your blood-sugar level by allowing your body to absorb the food more slowly. Perhaps most interesting of all was a study in 2019, which concluded that sourdough contributes to healthy aging. They found that the fermented ingredients provide the body with antioxidants, along with anti-diabetic and anti-hypertensive compounds. All of these elements contribute to staying healthy as we age.
