GREEN TEA

Drinking green tea provides benefits that range from promoting heart, liver and brain health to improving your skin, and possibly even reducing the risk of some cancers. It is loaded with micronutrients, and the latest studies are proving that these can affect a wide range of health issues. Its antioxidants promote heart health by reducing blood fat levels, blood pressure and inflammation. It improves skin conditions such as dermatitis, rosacea, sun damage and acne, while also increasing the skin’s elasticity to keep it looking younger.

Green tea can be a valuable tool for weight loss due to its combination of catechins and caffeine which help to regulate the hormones that stimulate the body to burn more calories. Perhaps the most powerful active component in green tea is a polyphenol called EGCG. Research is showing that it is very effective in fighting the free radicals that attack our cells and cause illness. It also helps to balance the production of new cells which may lower the risks of prostate and breast cancers. So you might consider adding a cup of green tea to your daily regimen, and don’t forget its cousin White Tea which has just as many benefits and is even a bit milder to the taste.
